Vitamin D often referred to as the ‘ sunshine vitamin’ is produced under your skin when you are exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D is the only vitamin that your body can make itself and 90% of vitamin D is produced through exposure to the sun.
Just remember that the sun can also be harmful when we spend too much time outdoors. The sun is the strongest between 11 am and 3pm. It is recommended to spend 10- 15 minutes daily in the sun. Remember to always wear sunscreen to prevent any skin damage.
